GOLD LEAF FRAMES / 12K WHITE GOLD

Art Services Inc. offers clients the opportunity to use precious metal leaf on a variety of substrates. We most often use 22ct and 12ct gold leaf, which can then be burnished to be brilliant and mirror-like, or waxed and aged to be subtle and matte. Depending on the color of bole used, the finished effect will take on warm or cool tones. Regardless of the finished aesthetic, all precious metal leaf is created using water gilding. Please read on below to learn more details about each leaf type.

12K White Gold is a combination of yellow gold and precious metal alloys like palladium and silver. The addition of these alloys give 12K white gold a slightly paler color, as well as more rigidity. This is a great option for a client who is looking for the frame, mount, pedestal, or custom fabrication to “cool” the aesthetic of an artwork, or are worried about the durability of the product within it’s environment.
